Kids enjoy a higher sense of confidence and self-esteem when they get a task done successfully. The same is true for youngsters and adults. If you allow your kids to color on a regular basis, they will have a heightened sense of pride and accomplishment.
We have yet to discuss the benefit that your child will be learning about the different colors as they color their pages. And the more exposure your child has to coloring, the more they will learn about the typical colors of objects, and they will begin to choose specific colors for specific items, such as red apples, or green leaves. And, as they grow older, you will also begin to see that they will color animals the color that they truly are. This may seem obvious to somebody who has known their colors since they can remember, but you had to learn it at some point and this is a great way for your child to learn theirs.
Worksheets are a method of studying and revision that have been used for decades for a multitude of subjects let alone Spanish, as it makes perfect sense to break down large, often complex subjects into bite size chunks that can make it a whole lot easier to concentrate study on sections that are difficult and therefore need to have extra study time spent on them.
Engagement entails much more than rote repetition of a procedure. Math worksheets tend to present very similar problem types over and over, leading to mundane practice of disassociated skills. For students who understand the material and successfully complete an assignment, another worksheet becomes meaningless. On the other hand, for the students who don’t understand the material, an alternative method of instruction is what’s needed. Another worksheet simply adds to the student’s frustration, or worse, contributes to a belief that ”I’ll never understand math.” A cute image or a ”fill-in-the-blanks” riddle does nothing to increase engagement or learning (and let’s face it, those riddles are not funny!). Instead, teachers need to increase engagement by providing students with exercises in which they discover patterns and relationships, solve problems, or think creatively about math relationships.

Many parents already know that coloring pages help develop their children’s artistic abilities. They may not be familiar with the ways that using coloring pages can help their little ones to improve their skills towards writing. As children practice coloring, their abilities to stay within the lines improve over time. This focused ability to control the pencils or crayons precisely is an important part of being able to hold a writing instrument still and steady for when it is time to draw the letters of the alphabet. Artistic abilities are cultivated and strengthened in children who do well at coloring pages. Besides this, they will find it easier to start writing their alphabet letters when the time for this comes.
